I also work for The Escape and, as such, know a lot about the great work done by those at Make-A-Wish. I ran the Bath half marathon for MAW this April and raised £200 for the charity so it would be nice to beat that amount. Even though I did very little training for that I've started pre-season football now and am trying to get down the gym a bit more so should be in slightly better nick for this, fingers crossed.
I still vividly remember learning to ride without stabilisers in Kent and crashing into parked cars with my dad looking on. As a much younger kid I would bike around B-Town to mates houses and to play footie down at the park. Fast-forward a few years and the last time I was on a bike was a few years ago doing promotional work around Brick Lane dressed like Mr Ben. It wasn't the most strenuous ride and I'm slightly scared that after 35 miles I'm going to be sitting on cushions for a good week.
My awesome red Raleigh Tomahawk which ensured a permanent grin on my face for Xmas 1988. It quickly had its spokes covered in those clackers that came free with the brekkie cereal frosties. Such a cool kid!
