I work for the escape and have had quite a big hand in the branding and design of make-a-wish’s various different leaflets and posters and much more, so its nice to actually be part of one of the projects we are producing work for.
I’m really looking forward to doing the Wishpedlar challenge and I think its great to be doing it as part of a team. I also feel guilty that I somehow ended up with a certificate for last year when I didn’t actually do it!! I haven’t done any sponsored events since a couple of fun runs when I was a much fitter young chap. When I say much fitter I suppose I just mean fit! Not a lot of regular exercise has been done since I 'retired' from football 3 years ago oh dear!
I have probably done the length of the Basingstoke Canal as a youth with my fishing rod strapped to the cross bar and a rucksack full of cheese sarnies and pop! Halcyon days! Nowadays I’m trying to get out on my mountain bike as much as possible which I love - especially the scary downhills!
It was called “little red bike” But it was really a Raleigh Budgie, which was like a baby chopper. It soon had the crazy handle bars and seat removed for standard ones as they were rubbish for doing “Stunts” (Evel Knievel and Eddie Kidd were my heroes!) and was used for jumping over my little sister and doing big skids. This was followed by a Raleigh Grifter and a Mk.1 Raleigh burner
